Mechanisms of drug resistance in ovarian cancer

چکیده
Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common affecting women and lethal among gynecological cancers. Because of lack specific symptoms no special screening tools, it recognised in an advanced stage. In addition, drug resistance ovarian so frequent, that genes cross-talks between some important pathways are still analysed. this review, major recently identified molecular mechanisms resistance, including platinum, taxane, bevacizumab PARPi from relevant literature have been investigated.

Mechanisms of cancer drug resistance.
The design of cancer chemotherapy has become increasingly sophisticated, yet there is no cancer treatment that is 100% effective against disseminated cancer. Resistance to treatment with anticancer drugs results from a variety of factors including individual variations in patients and somatic cell genetic differences in tumors, even those from the same tissue of origin. Frequently resistance is...
متن کاملMechanisms of drug resistance in cancer chemotherapy.
The management of cancer involves procedures, which include surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Development of chemoresistance is a persistent problem during the treatment of local and disseminated disease. A plethora of cytotoxic drugs that selectively, but not exclusively, target actively proliferating cells include such diverse groups as DNA alkylating agents, antimetabolites, intercalat...
متن کاملMolecular mechanisms involved in multidrug resistance in breast cancer therapy
Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in women. Chemotherapy is the main strategy in the treatment of this disease especially in the advanced form of the disease. Despite the recent progress in the development of new chemotherapy, the effectiveness of these drugs has dramatically reduced due to multidrug resistance. The phenotype of multidrug resistance (MDR) can occur through different me...
متن کاملHybrid Modeling of Cancer Drug Resistance Mechanisms
Cancer is a multi-scale disease and its overwhelming complexity depends upon the multiple interwind events occurring at both molecular and cellular levels, making it very difficult for therapeutic advancements in cancer research. The resistance to cancer drugs is a significant challenge faced by scientists nowadays. The roots of the problem reside not only at the molecular level due to multiple...
متن کاملThe Role of Epigenetics in Cancer Drug Resistance
Cancer is caused by aberrant genetic and epigenetic changes in genes expression. DNA methylation, histone modification, and microRNAs gene deregulation are the most known epigenetic changes in different stages of cancer. Since every tumor has its own specific epigenome, any abnormal pattern is a potential biomarker for classification of different types of tumors. Despite, tumorigenesis, abnorma...
